Fraud prevention signals

When you create an account or sign in — and at no other time — we record your network address and a set of device characteristics (platform, screen geometry, graphics adapter, timezone, language, and rendering and audio characteristics of your browser). These are combined and stored as a one-way keyed hash; the underlying values are discarded.

Purpose: detecting one person operating multiple accounts to abuse free credits, and investigating misuse of the public feed. Nothing else.
Never used for: advertising, behavioural profiling, cross-site tracking or analytics.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse of the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Retention: activity records are deleted automatically after 90 days; device records 180 days after the device was last seen.
Access: visible only to the platform owner, for security review.
