Veo 3.1 vs Kling 3.0 vs Sora 2: the AI video models compared (2026)

Veo for cinematic 4K and synced audio, Kling for value and motion control, Sora for creative physics. Which flagship video model earns its credits, and when a fast model is smarter.

By Ideovex Team

For cinematic polish and synced dialogue use Veo 3.1; for the best value and multi-shot motion control use Kling 3.0; for creative, physics-heavy shots use Sora 2. On Ideovex, Kling 3.0 is 140 credits a clip (~39 cents), while Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 are flagship models at 400 credits (~$1.12). For exploration, a fast model at 60 credits — or the free pool at zero — is usually the smarter first move.

Which AI video model should I use?

It depends on what the clip is for. Veo 3.1 (Google), Kling 3.0 (Kuaishou) and Sora 2 (OpenAI) are the leading flagship engines, and they optimise for different things — fidelity, value and creative range respectively. Because a flagship clip costs real money, the model you finish on should be a deliberate choice, and the model you explore on almost never needs to be a flagship at all.

When is Veo 3.1 worth 400 credits?

When the shot needs to look finished and, especially, when it needs sound. Veo 3.1's headline strength is synchronised audio, including lip-synced dialogue, on top of strong 4K fidelity and physics. If you are making a hero shot or a talking scene where audio and polish carry the clip, that is where the flagship price earns out.

Why Kling 3.0 is the value pick

At 140 credits it is well under half the flagship price, and it leads on the things high-volume creators care about: fine motion control and consistency across a multi-shot sequence. For social video, narrative boards and anything where you need several coherent clips rather than one perfect one, Kling 3.0 is usually the right default.

Where Sora 2 fits

Sora 2 is the creative and physics specialist — strong on inventive shots and believable motion. It is available on Ideovex as a 400-credit flagship. One planning note: OpenAI has signalled that the Sora 2 API is being wound down in late September 2026, so if you are building a repeatable pipeline rather than a one-off, Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 are the safer long-term bets.

The smart move: don't finish on a flagship you haven't tested

Flagship clips are expensive to gamble. Explore the motion on a fast model — Veo 3.1 Fast, Seedance 2 Fast and Wan Flash all run at 60 credits — or on the free experimental pool, which includes Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 and Seedance at zero credits (slower, limited concurrency). Once the shot works, re-run the keeper on the flagship. Better still, generate the first frame as a still and use image-to-video so you only gamble the motion — the T2V vs I2V guide covers exactly that.

See it before you spend

Every model card on the models page plays a real motion sample on hover, so you can judge how an engine handles movement before rendering. Pick the cut length you need first, then filter to the models that hit it.
